There is a special class of people in the world. Members of this class are the folks who never have to pay their bills- their hotel bills, restaurant bills, First Class air travels, house rent, electricity bills, telephone bills…….
And therefore they never draw any salary. At best, they draw token one-rupee salary. And they believe that because they are the saints who live on one rupee (they never fail to remind us, the lesser human beings of this fact), therefore questioning them about their doings is a blasphemy.
And so here is Amartya Sen. After burning Rs 2700 crore of a poor country, and having nothing to show for it, he is out to tell us to shut us up. Because, well, because he never drew any salary for burning these Rs 2700 crore…..
