In an article in Indian Express of date, WPS Sidhu explains the nuts and bolts of the agreement reached between India and the US to operationalize the Civil nuclear deal between the two countries. The article is very informative.
Of course it brings out how the Nuclear Liability Law has been wrongly framed, to impose unlimited liability on the equipment suppliers. Nobody can do business in a place where commercial liabilities are are not clearly defined and limited. We fail to recognise the basis of the modern Commerce of the world, that in any business transaction, liability has to be defined and limited. Where this is not the case, commerce doesn’t take off, and the country remains poor, non-industrialised, and impoverished.
